Funding platform

In collaborating with host organisations we invest through them, e.g. ACO, or Sydney Youth Orchestra etc. Tax deductions for donations come through our partners.

We are not a Foundation however, we are open to exploring new funding models and creating the framework for these ideas.

The minimum contribution for donors is $1000. But many give more. Tax breaks can be put across two financial years, should you wish.

Investment is on a commission- by-commission basis in projects for which you want to take part.

A new model for philanthropy

The Creative Music Fund is a form of collaborative commissioning, a new force in the philanthropic world, where a team of people works together with a creative collaborator /partner to share knowledge and commitment to enriching our Australian culture.

Importantly, it is the power of the team and the project rather than one individual or patron. All money given through the CMF goes to our commissions.

We are investing in culture, taking part in the full process – from idea to the stage, and get access to the commission’s rehearsals and performances.

Getting media coverage is an important part of our job – to raise the profile of the commissioned works and their outcome, as well as getting attention for new kinds of philanthropy. It is also an entry point for new philanthropists to get a taste – experience – for the potential of philanthropy and what it means to invest in culture.
